Article Processing Charges (APC)

The International Journal of Agricultural Research, Innovation and Technology (IJARIT) is a fully open-access journal. To cover the costs of peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, long-term digital archiving, and maintaining unrestricted online access for all readers worldwide, the journal levies an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon formal manuscript acceptance.

1. Submission Fees

There are no submission fees, and no charges apply to manuscripts rejected at desk screening or during peer review.

2. Publication Fee Structure

An APC is applied only after a manuscript has successfully completed double-blind peer review and received a formal letter of acceptance from the Editorial Board.

  • National Authors (Bangladesh): BDT 5,000
  • International Authors: USD 100

The differentiated rate for national authors reflects local cost-of-research and income conditions in Bangladesh and is a standard equitable-access practice among open-access journals serving both domestic and international author bases.

No Hidden Fees: The APC is a flat rate. There are no additional charges for color figures, supplementary material, page count, or article length.

3. APC Waiver and Discount Policy

IJARIT is committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent the publication of high-quality scientific research.

  • Low-Income Countries: Authors from countries classified by the World Bank or Research4Life as Group A (low-income economies) are eligible for an automatic 100% APC waiver.
  • Lower-Middle-Income Countries: Authors from Group B countries may apply for a 50% partial waiver.
  • Hardship Waivers: Corresponding authors without institutional funding, grants, or other financial support may submit an APC Waiver Application to the Executive Editor at the time of initial manuscript submission. Submitting a waiver request has no bearing on the editorial evaluation of the manuscript (see Section 5) and does not guarantee approval; waiver decisions are communicated before peer review begins wherever possible. Waiver requests submitted after acceptance will not be considered.
  • Institutional/Funder Billing: Where an author's institution or funding body agrees to cover the APC directly, IJARIT can issue the invoice to that institution upon written confirmation from the corresponding author.

4. Payment Methods & Processing

Once a manuscript is accepted, the corresponding author receives an official invoice with payment instructions, payable within 30 days of the invoice date.

  • International Authors: Bank wire transfer (SWIFT), credit/debit card, or other verified international electronic payment platforms.
  • National Authors (Bangladesh): Direct bank deposit/electronic fund transfer (BEFTN/NPSB) or authorized Mobile Financial Services (MFS).

If payment is not received within the invoice period, the Editorial Office will contact the corresponding author to confirm status; publication is scheduled only once payment is confirmed. Manuscripts are not withdrawn or penalized solely for a documented delay while payment is in process (e.g., pending institutional disbursement).

5. Refund Policy

  • If an article is withdrawn by the author after payment but before final publication, the APC is refundable at the Editorial Board's discretion, less any non-recoverable processing costs already incurred (e.g., copyediting or typesetting).
  • If an article is retracted after publication due to a finding attributable to the journal's own editorial or technical error, a full refund will be issued.
  • If a retraction results from author misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication), the APC is non-refundable.

6. Editorial Independence & Financial Transparency

No Influence on Peer Review: Editorial decisions (Accept, Revise, or Reject) are based strictly on the scientific quality, novelty, and rigor of the research. Editors and peer reviewers have no access to authors' financial status, waiver requests, or payment records at any stage of manuscript evaluation, and payment status plays no role in acceptance decisions.
