Aims and Scope
Aims
The International Journal of Agricultural Research, Innovation and Technology (IJARIT) (eISSN: 2224-0616) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing theoretical and applied knowledge across the agricultural sciences. The journal aims to provide a rigorous, accessible international platform for researchers, academicians, extension specialists, and policymakers to disseminate original findings on contemporary agricultural challenges, climate resilience, and global food security. IJARIT is committed to publishing high-quality, ethically sound research that bridges scientific innovation with practical application for farming communities, industry, and policy stakeholders worldwide.
Scope
IJARIT welcomes original research articles, critical reviews, short communications, and case studies across the following broad thematic areas, including but not limited to:
1. Crop Sciences & Plant Protection
Agronomy, crop physiology, horticulture, plant breeding and biotechnology (foundational aspects; see also Section 6 for applied biotechnology), and integrated pest and disease management, including entomology, plant pathology, pesticide toxicology in pest-management contexts, and specialized plantation crops (tea, coffee, rubber, and other cash crops).
2. Soil, Water & Environmental Resources
Soil science and plant nutrition, agricultural and environmental chemistry (including pesticide residue and heavy metal contamination studies), agrometeorology and climate-smart agriculture, and water and farm resource management, including irrigation, watershed management, and agricultural waste recycling.
3. Animal & Aquatic Sciences
Animal and veterinary science, livestock production and health, and aquaculture and fisheries management, including sustainable fisheries and marine resource utilization.
4. Post-Harvest Technology & Food Systems
Food science and technology, food hygiene, safety, and quality control, post-harvest handling and processing, and food chemistry.
5. Agricultural Economics & Rural Development
Agribusiness and market analysis, agricultural policy, agricultural statistics and econometric methods, and extension and rural development, including technology transfer, farming systems research, and food security policy.
6. Agricultural Innovation & Emerging Technologies
Precision agriculture, farm mechanization and agricultural engineering, applied plant and microbial biotechnology, genetic engineering, digital and extension technologies, irrigation engineering and climate adaptation technology, and other emerging tools and systems applied across agricultural research and practice.
Submissions that address these areas through multidisciplinary or cross-cutting approaches — particularly those bridging Section 6 with any of Sections 1–5 — are especially encouraged.
Article Types
- Original Research Articles — full-length reports of original research.
- Review Articles — critical, comprehensive syntheses of a research area.
- Short Communications — concise reports of significant preliminary or focused findings.
- Case Studies — applied or field-based accounts of practical relevance.
(Author guidelines with specific word-count and formatting requirements for each article type are available on the Author Guidelines page.)
Editorial Policy & Publication Ethics
All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process overseen by specialized section editors and international reviewers organized across the journal's six thematic areas (see Peer Review Panel).
