Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Agricultural Research, Innovation and Technology (IJARIT) publishes high-quality original research articles, short communications, and critical review articles across all disciplines of agricultural science.

All manuscripts submitted to IJARIT must adhere strictly to the guidelines outlined below. Submissions failing to meet these criteria or violating our Publication Ethics Policy will be returned to authors prior to initiating peer review.

1. Article Types & Scope

  • Original Research Articles: Comprehensive empirical studies presenting novel scientific findings (4,000–8,000 words, including abstract, references, tables, and figures).

  • Short Communications: Concise scientific reports presenting preliminary findings or significant single-experiment breakthroughs (up to 2,500 words, maximum 3 tables/figures).

  • Review Articles: Critical overviews of key developments, emerging trends, and technologies in agricultural science (6,000–10,000 words; proposals or invited reviews).

2. Mandatory File Preparation & Anonymization

To support IJARIT’s Double-Blind Peer Review process, authors must submit two separate files in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx):

File 1: Title Page (IJARIT_Title_Page_Template.docx)

  • Full Title: Concise and informative title avoiding non-standard abbreviations.

  • Author Details: Full names, institutional affiliations, city, and country for all co-authors.

  • ORCID iDs: Validated ORCID iDs for all listed authors.

  • Corresponding Author: Full name, postal address, and active institutional email address.

  • Acknowledgements & Funding: Details of institutional support, financial grants, and grant numbers.

  • Conflict of Interest Statement: Explicit declaration of any personal or financial competing interests.

File 2: Main Manuscript (IJARIT_Manuscript_Template.docx)

  • Must contain the Title, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, Tables, Figures, and References.

  • Strict Anonymization: Author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, funding details, and identifying self-citations must be completely removed to ensure double-blind review integrity.

3. Formatting Specifications & Manuscript Structure

  • Page Setup: A4 paper size, 2.54 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides.

  • Typography: Times New Roman, 12 pt font size, 1.5 line spacing, fully justified text.

  • Line & Page Numbers: Continuous line numbering and page numbering must be enabled throughout the manuscript.

  • Scientific Names & Units: Use standard International System of Units (SI units). Scientific botanical/zoological names must be italicized with full binomial nomenclature at first mention (e.g., Camellia sinensis (L.) O. Kuntze).

Manuscript Layout Order

  1. Title: Concise and descriptive.

  2. Abstract: Maximum 250 words, structured or narrative, summarizing objectives, methodology, key results, and conclusions. Must be free of citations and unexplained abbreviations.

  3. Keywords: 4 to 6 specific terms for electronic indexing (alphabetically arranged).

  4. Introduction: Relevant literature background, research rationale, hypothesis, and explicit objectives.

  5. Materials and Methods: Experimental design, field/laboratory procedures, statistical treatments, and mandatory ethics approvals.

  6. Results and Discussion: Combined or separate presentation of empirical findings with rigorous scientific interpretation and literature comparison.

  7. Conclusions: Direct summary of core findings and practical agricultural applications.

  8. Declarations: Mandatory statements (Data Availability, Ethical Approval, AI Usage, Conflicts of Interest).

  9. References: Compiled strictly in APA 7th Edition format with active HTTPS DOIs.

4. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

  • Tables: Must be created using Microsoft Word's native table tool (do not insert tables as static images). Number tables sequentially using Arabic numerals (Table 1, Table 2) with a descriptive title placed directly above the table. Explanatory footnotes must appear below the table.

  • Figures & Graphs: Embed high-resolution graphics directly within the text near their first mention (Figure 1, Figure 2). Captions must appear below the figure.

    • Resolution requirements: Minimum 300 dpi for photographs/maps; minimum 600 dpi for line art and vector graphs.

5. Mandatory Statements & Declarations

At the end of the manuscript (immediately preceding the References section), authors must include the following explicit declarations:

  • Data Availability Statement: Specify where research data can be accessed (e.g., "Data available in a public repository," "Data available upon reasonable request," or "All data are included within the article").

  • Ethical Approval Statement: For research involving live animals, field trials, or human surveys, state the approving Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Animal Ethics Committee (IACUC) name and official approval/permit number.

  • Generative AI Disclosure: If generative AI or LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) were used during manuscript preparation or language editing, state the tool name, version, and specific purpose. If no AI tools were used, state: "No generative AI tools were used in the preparation or editing of this manuscript."

  • Conflict of Interest: Declare any financial or personal competing interests. If none exist, state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

  • Funding Statement: List grant numbers and funding agencies. If unassisted, state: "This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors."

6. Publication Ethics & Integrity Constraints

Submissions must strictly align with the IJARIT Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement:

  • Plagiarism Screening: All manuscripts undergo automated similarity checks (Turnitin / iThenticate). Manuscripts exceeding an overall similarity index of 15% or a single-source index of 3% will be desk-rejected.

  • AI Authorship Restrictions: Generative AI tools cannot be credited as authors. AI usage is restricted to language editing or preliminary data organization and must be fully disclosed. Data or image fabrication via AI will result in immediate manuscript rejection and author blacklisting.

  • Ethical Approvals: Studies involving human participants (e.g., socio-economic surveys), live vertebrate animals, or regulated bio-agents must cite ethics approval numbers inside the Materials and Methods section.

7. Reference Style Guidelines (APA 7th Edition)

IJARIT strictly follows the APA 7th Edition referencing format. Every reference cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa. Always include active Crossref DOIs (https://doi.org/...) where available.

In-Text Citations

  • Single Author: (Ahmed, 2024) or Ahmed (2024)

  • Two Authors: (Mamun & Rahman, 2025) or Mamun and Rahman (2025)

  • Three or More Authors: (Mamun et al., 2026) or Mamun et al. (2026)

  • Multiple Citations: Order chronologically, separated by semicolons: (Islam, 2020; Ahmed, 2023; Roy et al., 2025)

Arrange entries alphabetically by the first author's surname.

8. Online Submission Process

All submissions must be uploaded through the [IJARIT Online Journal Systems (OJS) Portal]. Submissions via email are no longer accepted.
